Academy Awards: «Hugo» domine les mises en nomination, «Monsieur Lazhar» cité

Le film «Hugo» domine les mises en nomination avec 11 citations en vue de la 84e édition des Academy Awards. Les mises en nomination ont été annoncées mardi matin à Los Angeles.

«Hugo» est notamment cité dans les catégories Meilleur film, Meilleur réalisation (Martin Scorsese) et Meilleur scénario adapté (John Logan).

Le film muet «The Artist» arrive au deuxième rang avec 10 mises en nomination dont Meilleur acteur (Jean Dujardin), Meilleure actrice de soutien (Bérénice Bejo) et Meilleure réalisation (Michel Hazanavicius).

Dans la catégorie du Meilleur film, on compte neuf candidats. Outre «Hugo» et «The Artist», on retrouve «War Horse», «Moneyball», «The Descendants», «The Tree of Life», «Midnight in Paris», «The Help» et «Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close».

Jean Dujardin («The Artist») affrontera Demián Bichir («A Better Life»), George Clooney («The Descendants»), Gary Oldman («Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy») et Brad Pitt («Moneyball») dans la catégorie du Meilleur acteur.

Chez les actrices, la lutte se fera entre Glenn Close («Albert Nobbs»), Viola Davis («The Help»), Rooney Mara («The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo»), Meryl Streep («The Iron Lady») et Michelle Williams («My Week with Marilyn»). Pour Meryl Streep, il s’agit d’une 17e mise en nomination en carrière aux Academy Awards.

Kenneth Branagh («My Week with Marilyn»), Jonah Hill («Moneyball»), Nick Nolte («Warrior»), Christopher Plummer («Beginners») et Max von Sydow («Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close») rivaliseront dans la catégorie du meilleur acteur de soutien.

Outre Bérénice Bejo pour «The Artist», on retrouve dans la catégorie de la meilleure actrice de soutien Jessica Chastain («The Help»), Melissa McCarthy («Bridesmaids»), Janet McTeer («Albert Nobbs») et Octavia Spencer («The Help»).

Le film «Monsieur Lazhar» de Philippe Falardeau a récolté une mise en nomination dans la catégorie du meilleur film en langue étrangère. Les autres candidats sont «Bullhead» (Belgique), «Footnote» (Israël), «In Darkness» (Pologne) et «A Separation» (Iran). Au cours des années, seulement cinq autres films canadiens ont été mis en nomination dans cette catégorie: «Incendies» de Denis Villeneuve en 2011, «Water» de Deepa Mehta en 2006 et trois films de Denys Arcand («Le Déclin de l’empire américain» (1986), «Jésus de Montréal» (1989) et «Les invasions barbares» (2003). Seul «Les invasions barbares» a récolté la statuette convoitée dans cette catégorie.

Billy Crystal animera la 84ème cérémonie des Academy Awards. Le gala sera diffusé le 26 février 2012 en direct du Kodak Theatre sur les ondes du réseau ABC.
