Madonna sera intronisée au Panthéon du Rock and Roll avec John Mellencamp, The Ventures, Leonard Cohen et The Dave Clark Five en mars prochain. L'annonce a été faite jeudi par les organisateurs de l'événement.
Un jury de 600 membres de l'industrie musicale ont choisi les cinq artistes qui seront intronisés à la cérémonie annuelle qui se tiendra le 10 mars 2008 à New York.
Pour être éligible, les artistes doivent avoir lancé un premier simple ou un album vingt-cinq ans avant la mise en nomination.
En 2007, Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five, Patti Smith, R.E.M., The Ronettes et Van Halen avaient été intronisés.
